Welcome to the R-7 Online Academy!

The Lee's Summit R-7 School District believes that online courses provide new opportunities in the delivery of instruction for students. 

R7 Online is a web-based platform that began in Fall 2008 with three secondary courses. Through our commitment to online learning, R7 Online has grown to offer Lee's Summit students and qualifying students in Jackson County more than 80 courses for K-12. Our online elementary and high school academy are now a MOCAP provider and can offer instruction to qualifying students state-wide. Our programming for students offers a gradual release design in their meeting structures. Our Kindergarten through 5th graders receive daily synchronous instruction from our Elementary Academy. Those students in our Secondary Academy are offered both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.

Our courses are designed with Lee's Summit R-7 Schools curriculum and are taught by Missouri-certified LSR7 teachers. A variety of instructional materials are utilized to deliver the content including print and online texts, video and audio, discussion boards, and more. All courses are delivered using the Schoology software platform.
